FlewIt Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Skylife Technologies Ltd., a British Columbia, Canada company operating the FlewIt service (“FlewIt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies when you access or use the FlewIt website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files or pieces of data that may be stored on or accessed from your browser or device when you visit a website or use an online service.

Cookies can perform a variety of functions, including keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, maintaining security, understanding how the Service is used, measuring performance, supporting referral or affiliate programs, and supporting advertising or marketing activities.

Some cookies are placed directly by FlewIt. Others may be placed or accessed by third-party service providers that we use.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

In addition to traditional browser cookies, FlewIt may use other technologies that perform similar functions, including:

  • session cookies;

  • local storage;

  • session storage;

  • pixels;

  • tags;

  • scripts;

  • analytics tools;

  • software development kits (“SDKs”);

  • browser or device identifiers;

  • affiliate and referral tracking technologies; and

  • other similar technologies.

References to “cookies” in this Cookie Policy generally include these similar technologies where appropriate.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

The cookies and similar technologies used by FlewIt may fall into the following categories.

A. Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly Necessary Cookies are required for FlewIt to operate, provide requested functionality, or maintain the security of the Service.

They may be used to:

  • create and maintain user sessions;

  • keep you signed in;

  • authenticate your account;

  • protect your account and the Service;

  • prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity;

  • process requests and transactions;

  • provide technical functionality;

  • remember your cookie and privacy preferences; and

  • provide features you have specifically requested.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide the Service, they may operate without optional cookie consent where permitted by applicable law.

You may be able to block these technologies through your browser or device settings, but doing so may cause parts of FlewIt to stop functioning properly.

B. Functional and Preference Cookies

Functional and Preference Cookies help FlewIt remember choices you make and provide a more personalized experience.

They may be used to remember information or settings such as:

  • display preferences;

  • language preferences;

  • units of measurement;

  • date formats;

  • dashboard preferences;

  • other FlewIt preferences.

Functional technologies may also be used to provide optional integrations or features that you request, including certain third-party authentication or map functionality.

Where required by applicable law, these technologies will only be used with the appropriate consent.

C. Analytics and Performance Cookies

Analytics and Performance Cookies help us understand how FlewIt is used and how the Service performs.

FlewIt may use Google Analytics and related Google measurement technologies for these purposes.

Analytics technologies may collect information relating to:

  • pages or screens viewed;

  • features used;

  • interactions with FlewIt;

  • navigation through the Service;

  • session duration;

  • general usage patterns;

  • browser and device information;

  • approximate location derived from technical information such as an IP address;

  • technical performance;

  • errors or diagnostic information; and

  • other information about how the Service is used.

We may use this information to:

  • understand how users interact with FlewIt;

  • measure use of features;

  • identify technical problems;

  • measure and improve performance;

  • improve usability;

  • develop new features; and

  • improve and maintain the Service.

FlewIt may use Google Tag Manager to manage or control the loading of analytics, advertising, and other website technologies. Google Tag Manager itself primarily facilitates the deployment of other technologies, and the consent requirements applicable to a tag depend on the technology that the tag loads.

Where required by applicable law, non-essential analytics technologies will not be activated unless you have provided the appropriate consent.

D. Advertising and Marketing Cookies

FlewIt uses or may use Google AdSense and related Google advertising technologies to display advertisements, measure advertising performance, and support advertising-related functions.

Advertising and Marketing Cookies may be used to:

  • display advertisements;

  • measure advertising campaigns;

  • determine whether an advertisement resulted in a visit, signup, subscription, or other action;

  • understand advertising effectiveness;

  • limit repeated advertising;

  • measure advertising audiences;

  • prevent advertising fraud; and

  • where enabled and permitted, personalize advertising.

Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies in connection with advertisements displayed through Google AdSense.

Where required by applicable law, Advertising and Marketing Cookies will not be activated unless you have provided the appropriate consent.

Where advertising personalization requires separate consent or controls, FlewIt will apply those controls as required by applicable law.

E. Referral and Affiliate Cookies

FlewIt may operate referral, affiliate, promotional, or partnership programs.

FlewIt may use first-party cookies or similar technologies to:

  • identify a referral or affiliate source;

  • associate a visit with a referral, affiliate, or promotional link;

  • determine whether a qualifying signup, subscription, or other conversion occurred;

  • attribute referrals or conversions;

  • administer commissions, rewards, discounts, or promotional offers;

  • apply promotional codes or offers; and

  • detect fraud or misuse of referral or affiliate programs.

Where required by applicable law, non-essential referral or affiliate tracking technologies will only be activated after the appropriate consent has been obtained.

4. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

First-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are placed or controlled directly by FlewIt.

They may be used for purposes such as:

  • authentication;

  • account security;

  • session management;

  • preferences;

  • fraud prevention;

  • cookie preference management;

  • referral and affiliate attribution; and

  • operation of the Service.

Third-Party Cookies and Technologies

FlewIt may use third-party technologies that interact directly with your browser or device.

These may include:

  • Google Analytics for analytics and performance measurement;

  • Google Tag Manager for management of website tags and related technologies;

  • Google AdSense for advertising and advertising measurement;

  • Google authentication services where you choose to sign in or authenticate using Google;

  • Stripe in connection with payments, checkout security, and fraud prevention; and

  • OpenStreetMap infrastructure in connection with map tiles and geographic map content.

Some third-party providers may place or access cookies, receive browser or device information, or otherwise process technical information when their services are used.

Their collection and processing of information may also be governed by their own privacy policies, cookie policies, and terms.

FlewIt also uses other service providers, including hosting, email, uptime monitoring, aviation-data, and backup providers. Those providers are described where appropriate in our Privacy Policy but are not necessarily listed in this Cookie Policy unless they use cookies or similar browser- or device-based technologies in connection with your use of FlewIt.

For more information about how personal information may be disclosed to or processed by service providers, please review our Privacy Policy.

5. Your Cookie Choices

Where required by applicable law, FlewIt provides controls allowing you to decide whether certain non-essential cookies and similar technologies may be used.

Depending on your location and the technologies being used, available categories may include:

  • Strictly Necessary — always active;

  • Functional — optional;

  • Analytics — optional; and

  • Advertising & Marketing — optional.

Referral or affiliate technologies may be included within an appropriate optional category or managed separately depending on how the technology is used.

Where consent is required, non-essential cookies and similar technologies will not be activated unless the appropriate consent has been provided.

You may be able to:

  • accept all optional cookies;

  • reject optional cookies; or

  • customize your preferences by category.

You may change your preferences later by selecting Cookie Settings on FlewIt.

Changing your preferences applies to future use of the affected technologies. Information previously collected may continue to be retained where permitted or required by law and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Strictly Necessary Technologies

Certain technologies are necessary for FlewIt to function or to provide features you have requested.

These may include technologies required for:

  • login and authentication;

  • user sessions;

  • account and platform security;

  • fraud and abuse prevention;

  • network or technical security;

  • payment or checkout functionality;

  • storing cookie consent choices; and

  • other functionality specifically requested by you.

For example, Stripe may use technologies necessary to support secure payment processing or fraud prevention when you purchase a FlewIt subscription or paid feature.

Strictly Necessary Technologies cannot generally be disabled through FlewIt's cookie preference controls.

7. Google Authentication

FlewIt may allow you to create an account, sign in, or authenticate using Google.

If you choose to use Google authentication, Google may receive technical information or use cookies or similar technologies necessary to provide authentication, security, account selection, or related functionality.

Google authentication is only used when you choose to use that authentication method or where otherwise required to provide a feature you have requested.

Information received by FlewIt through Google authentication is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Google's own processing of information is governed by Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.

8. Maps and OpenStreetMap

FlewIt uses mapping technology based on Leaflet and map data or tiles made available through OpenStreetMap.

Leaflet is software used by FlewIt to display interactive maps and does not itself operate as a separate advertising or analytics provider.

When map tiles or other resources are requested from OpenStreetMap infrastructure, your browser may communicate directly with OpenStreetMap servers. As part of normal internet communications, those servers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information, requested resources, and related request information.

This functionality is used to provide FlewIt's maps and geographic features.

OpenStreetMap's handling of information received through its infrastructure is subject to its own applicable policies.

9. Cookies and Technologies Used by FlewIt

The particular cookies and similar technologies used by FlewIt may change as the Service develops or as we change service providers.

If such technologies are introduced, we will update this Cookie Policy and our Cookie Settings where appropriate and obtain consent where required by applicable law.

Additional information about individual cookies, storage technologies, and their durations may be made available through FlewIt's Cookie Settings interface.

10. Browser and Device Controls

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through browser settings.

  • delete cookies;

  • block cookies;

  • block certain third-party cookies;

  • restrict local storage; or

  • control how websites may use cookies and similar technologies.

Blocking or deleting certain technologies may affect the functionality of FlewIt.

Browser or device controls operate separately from FlewIt's own Cookie Settings.

11. Cookie Preference Records

If you make a choice through FlewIt's cookie consent or preference system, we may maintain a record of that choice.

The record may include information such as:

  • the cookie categories you accepted or rejected;

  • the date and time of your selection;

  • the version of the cookie consent notice or preferences presented to you; and

  • technical information necessary to remember and apply your preferences.

A cookie or similar technology may itself be used to remember your cookie preferences.

These records may be retained where reasonably necessary to honour your preferences, demonstrate compliance with applicable law, resolve disputes, or maintain appropriate records.

12. Consent and Withdrawal of Consent

Where applicable law requires consent before FlewIt uses a cookie or similar technology, we will request the appropriate consent before activating that technology.

You may withdraw or change your consent for optional cookies through Cookie Settings.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

Certain Strictly Necessary Technologies may continue to operate because they are required to provide the Service, maintain security, remember your preferences, process transactions, or provide functionality you have requested.

13. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including when:

  • we introduce new technologies;

  • we add, remove, or change service providers;

  • our use of cookies or similar technologies changes;

  • the Service changes; or

  • applicable legal or regulatory requirements change.

When we update this Cookie Policy, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top.

If a change materially affects your cookie choices or requires new consent under applicable law, we may ask you to review or update your preferences.

14. Relationship With Our Privacy Policy

Cookies and similar technologies may involve the collection or processing of personal information.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, retain, transfer, and protect personal information, as well as the privacy rights and choices that may be available to you.

If there is a conflict between this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy regarding the handling of personal information, the Privacy Policy will apply to the extent of that conflict.

15. Relationship With Our Terms and Conditions

Your use of FlewIt is also governed by our Terms and Conditions.
